Hi! Hi, everyone! ¿Qué tal? Soy Ágatha, y sí, soy fantástica. Bueno me han pedido que os explique alguna cosita sobre mí para que me conozcáis un poco más. A ver? Tengo 33 años aunque, obviamente, no los aparento. Estoy estudiando un máster en la Universidad Politécnica, por raro que parezca. Vivo aquí en Barcelona, en el barrio del Born y comparto piso con dos hombres, Sandro y Paco. Ninguno de los dos merece la pena.

Hi! Hi, everyone! How are you? I'm Agatha, and yes, I am great. They asked me to tell you something about me so that you could know me a little bit more. Let's see... I am 33, though, I don't look like 33, obviously. I am studying a masters at the Universidad Politécnica, although that could seem weird. I live in Barcelona, in the Born district. I share my flat with two men, Sandro and Paco. Neither of them are worthy.

¿Mis aficiones? Tenis, golf, navegar... Me apasiona la novela histórica, podría pasarme horas y horas en la bañera con una buena obra y rodeada de pétalos de rosa y sales de baño...¡oh! me encanta

Hobbies? Tennis, golf, sailing... I love historic novel, and I could spend hours and hours in the bath with a good novel, surrounded by petals of rose and bath salts..oh, I love it!

Me gusta muchísimo salir a restaurantes de moda, restaurantes cool y, bueno si mis amigos no se apuntan, soy capaz de ir yo sola.

I really fancy going to trendy restaurants, cool restaurants and, if my friends don't come out, I am able to go out alone.

¿Qué más? What else?? Mmm? Soy la menor de tres hermanos,papá es empresario y mamá es coleccionista de art.

What else, what else...mmm I am the youngest of three siblings, daddy is a businessman and mummy is an art collector.

¡Ah! Una cosita más antes de acabar, mucho cuidado con Eva, la psicóloga. Parece una mosquita muerta pero, en cuanto te descuides, estará analizando tu mente.

Pedir que os explique

they asked me to explain to you

Me han pedido que os explique alguna cosita sobre mí.
They asked me to explain to you something about me.
Explique, del verbo Explicar. Con la construcción Pedir que + verbo, es necesario usar una forma del verbo especial (llamada Subjuntivo) cuando las personas de las dos oraciones son diferentes. Ejemplo:(YO) He pedido (A MI PADRE) que me deje dinero. Pedimos a nuestros amigos que nos ayuden.
Para que me conozcáis

in order for you to know me

Te llamaré para que vengas a recogerme.
I'll call you in order for you to pick me up.

Con la expresión Para que + verbo, necesitamos una forma especial del verbo (Subjuntivo) cuando las personas de las dos oraciones son diferentes. Cuando es la misma persona, se utiliza el verbo en Infinitivo. Ejemplo: (YO) voy a estudiar español para (YO) viajar por España.

Es un expresión para indicar que el dinero, tiempo o esfuerzo empleado en algo realmente es útil.

Parece una mosquita muerta.
She's innocent.
Esta expresión se utiliza para hablar de personas que parecen débiles e ingenuas pero pueden ser muy maliciosas.
En cuanto te descuides

as soon as you let your guard down

En cuanto te descuides te estará analizando la mente.
As soon as you let your guard down she'll be analizing your mind.
Con la expresión En cuanto + verbo, necesitamos una forma especial del verbo (Subjuntivo) cuando tiene una idea de futuro. Ejemplos: En cuanto llegues a casa, te llamaré. En cuanto reciba tu mensaje, te contestaré

me gustan mucho estos cursos por video! ojo - pija en Latinoamérica, o por lo menos en Argentina/Uruguay es otra cosa…sería bueno añadir una nota cuando algo cambia de significado según la región—o por lo menos, hacerlo cuando podría causar malentendimientos bastante serios!

My personal glossary:

me han pedido - (they) have asked me. que parezca - that seems; that could seem. aficiones - hobbies. navegar - sailing. no se apuntan - don’t come out. acabar - ending.

By posting, I am sure to find it when I want to review.

It would be a nice feature to have a list from what is likely new for that level, a list you could edit for your personal copy. They some vocabulary drills based on your personal list, just before you watching the video for review.

And it would be nice if we could turn of the captions, to test our aural comprehension later.

I am very impressed with your language courses. The very first video of Agatha at the pool really caught my EYE ! Am I mistaken or was she not wearing any panties. It sure looked like she wasn’t. Nevertheless she is really sexy,
